Aromatic Description: Sweet, fresh, camphoraceous, herbaceous, 

Colour/Characteristics: Clear to pale yellow

Main Chemical Constituents:  1,8-cineole, sabinene, α-pinene, ß-pinene, terpinen-4-ol, linalool, α-terpinol, methyl eugenol

Blends well with: Eucalyptus, niaouli, fragonia, tea tree, pine, kunzea, lavender, mandarin, grapefruit, orange, lime, lemon, frankincense.

Properties/Uses: Antifungal, antiseptic, bactericidal, carminative, diaphoretic, digestive, expectorant, tonic.  Bay laurel essential oil may be used to help treat colds, flus, muscular aches and pains, rheumatism, neuralgia, arthritis, circulatory conditions, respiratory infections, bronchial infections, digestive problems, flatulence, skin rashes, fungal conditions, acne, ulcers, slow healing wounds, nervousness, general fatigue.

Energetics: Bay laurel essential oil may be used to help relieve lack of energy, low self esteem, lack of confidences, self-doubt.  Bay laurel can help us to move forward by overcoming our fears and inhibitions.  It can help to encourage and feed our creativity, imagination and inspiration, promoting confidence, insight and courage.

Use: Bath, compress, massage, cream, ointment, balm, salve, direct inhalation, diffuser, oil burner, oil vaporiser.

Safety: Generally regarded as safe.  No contraindications known.  Frequent use on the skin over a period of time may result in sensitisation and irritations.  Tisserand & Young recommend caution when using on people with hypersensitive, diseased or damaged skin and on children under 2 years of age.  They recommend a dermal maximum of .5%.  Has GRAS status.

Conservation Status: Listed as - Least Concern - on the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species.
