Palo Santo which translates to ‘holy wood’ or 'wood of the saints', has a long history of use by the native people of South America as an essential tool in sacred shamanic rituals for its energetic cleansing and medicinal healing properties.
Palo Santo may be enjoyed for its cleansing and healing properties that can help to release unwanted/negative energies, thoughts and feelings. The smoke provides an uplifting sent that calms the mind, raises our vibration in preparation for meditation and provides a deeper spiritual connection.
Suggested Use: Hold the piece of wood on an angle and light the tip until there is a small flame. After a minute blow out the flame so only smoke is being produced. Place it on an angle, burning end down in a fireproof dish that will allow it to continue burning. Gently blow on embers when needed. It may need to be lit several times to continue releasing its purifying, energetic qualities. The stick can be used several times.
Caution: If you have lung or breathing problems, careful burning palo santo as it may worsen symptoms.
